This learning module comes with pre-built Articulate Storyline templates, which, under the CC license, I can adapt for my needs. For the purposes of my lesson on personal branding, I will utilize slides that include the questions to ask yourself when developing your personal brand.

Mayer’s Multimedia Design Principles

  • Multimedia principle: The Articulate Storyline slides include graphics, text and voice

  • Modality principle: The Storyline slides are supported by audio narration to support the graphics

  • Coherence principle: The slides contain graphics, text, and audio that support the lesson, without extraneous additives.

  • Contiguity principle: The slides are organized logically, with slide layouts appropriate for the content

  • Segmenting principle: The slides do a good job of breaking down the content into accessible pieces.

  • Learner control principle: The slides do not auto-advance, allowing the learner to control how long to stay on each slide.  Learners can also turn on or off the close captioning.

Interactive Infographic

Description

  • I created this interactive image to conclude the lesson, as a way to encourage students to continue working on and promoting their personal brand.

  • I created the infographic in Canva.* Most of the images were from Canva’s image library, except for the picture of the USG campus.  I took that photo and edited it to look like a drawing/painting.

  • I loaded the infographic into Articulate Rise,* where I added the interactive hotspots, including all text and my audio component.
