The audio that I have created will be included in the final portion of my lesson. It is meant to offer a chance for students to reflect on their hard work and prepare them for the final piece of the lesson. This audio will be embedded into the final, interactive infographic that outlines their next steps in strengthening and promoting their brand.
Mayer’s Multimedia Design Principles
-
Coherence Principle: This is just audio. There is no additional underlying music or anything to distract from the message.
-
Continuity principle: This allows the students to reflect before encouraging them to move on to the next step.
-
Segmenting principle: Creates a needed break and opportunity to allow students to reflect rather than just go, go, go.
-
Learner control principle: Learners have the opportunity to pause, rewind, play, etc.
-
Personalization principle: I speak directly to the learner, with a conversational tone and second-person language.
Made-to-Stick principles
-
Simple: A simple summary of the work that they completed in the course and offers learners a moment to take a step back and reflect on and celebrate what they completed.
-
Unexpected: It is attention-grabbing because the first direction is to stop.
-
Concrete: It is clearly articulated with complete directions and information
-
Credible: The information is believable and conveys a caring sense from the instructor.
-
Emotion: It motivates and encourages the learner to appreciate their hard work
-
Story: It inspires them to continue building and working on their brand.
